Service Project Fair Brings Out Community to Give Back

For the seventh consecutive year groups and individuals from throughout Cranford came together Monday to honor the memory of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a service project fair at the First Presbyterian Church. Cranford Radio was in attendance and spoke with Janice Grevious about the event.

Cindy Hannen Recognized with Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Award

Each January the Cranford Clergy Council presents the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Award at a community service. The award “is presented to persons who have represented in their own lives the ideals and commitments of Dr. King.” This year’s recipient was Cindy Hannen. Hannen chairs the Interfaith Human Relations Committee of the Clergy Council. The award was presented at the 38th annual commemorative service sponsored by the Clergy Council, held this year at Calvary Lutheran Church. Following the service, Cranford Radio spoke with Cindy about the award and her service to the community.

Cranford Radio Headlines for Week of January 11

The impact of the opioid epidemic in Cranford was dramatically shown in statistics released by the Cranford Police Department and the new chairman of the Union County Board of Freeholders comes from Cranford.
