Downtown Cranford was the focus of this month’s 35 Live on TV35. Guests were Cranford Township Commissioner Jean-Albert Maisonneuve, Downtown Management Corporation Board Chairman Anthony Durante and Downtown Business and Downtown Development Director Gabe Bailer.
Ryan Greco grew up in Cranford and has spent his career with the Cranford Police Department. In October, he was sworn in as the town’s police chief. Cranford Radio paid the chief a visit to learn a bit more about his life and his plans for the CPD.

Ricot and Helena Jean Baptiste have only owned Urban Burger since last September but already they made Travel Pulse’s list for the best burger in every state. A new menu, music lists put together by Ricot and events such as beer nights are some of the ways the restaurant is changing.

Heads up. There are new recycling rules that will be in effect for the next town-wide recycling on Tuesday. You can get the details in this week’s Cranford Radio headlines. You’ll also hear about CHS sports and the weekend weather and events.
Hundreds of people use the Cranford Community Center weekly. As they move through the atrium they may see what appears to be a pile of rocks beneath the stairs to the second level. On closer examination, you’ll find some piping and smooth stones that once were part of a water garden. Cranford’s three garden clubs recently received a grant from the National Garden Clubs to restore the water garden. The grant, however, falls short of what’s needed to bring back the soothing sounds of flowing water. On Sunday, June 10, the Floraphile Garden Club, the Garden Club of Cranford and the Green Thumb Garden Club of Cranford will hold a brunch at Pairings to raise money for the project. Cranford Radio spoke with Deb Murphy, Carol English and Brenda Flahault to learn more about the project and the brunch.

Downtown streets were filled with thousands Sunday afternoon for the spring street fair. Later in the week CHS students participated in the National Day of Silence. The track, lacrosse and baseball teams all have weekend action and cooler temps return Saturday.
