Raritan Valley Rail Coalition Provides Update

While the Raritan Valley Rail Coalition partially achieved one of its main objectives in March 2014 with the start of a one-seat ride to and from New York City on NJ Transit trains during middays, the Coalition continues to push for improvements. On Monday morning, the group held a membership meeting at Westfield Town Hall. Somerset County Freeholder Peter Palmer, who is the chairman of the rail group, gave an update on what needs to be done now.

Hanson Park Conservancy’s Rubber Ducky Race to Feature Cake Boss

Those who watch Cake Boss know Buddy Valastro and his crew come up with some pretty outrageous creations. One of those special cakes will be a highlight of the seventh annual Rubber Ducky Race. The race, which supports the Hanson Park Conservancy, will be held October 22 at Sperry Park in Cranford. Cynthia Dawley is the president of the conservancy and Linda Livelli is in-charge of this year’s race. Cranford Radio spoke with them to learn more about Hanson Park and the race.

The Wild Party Coming to Cranford Dramatic Club

The Cranford Dramatic Club opens its 99th season this month with “The Wild Party.” It takes you back to 1929 in New York City; a time of Prohibition and vaudeville. Cranford Radio stopped by the theater as the actors, crew and director prepared for opening night on October 13.
